About Us

Sandown Park Development Trust is a local Himatangi-based organisation. Himatangi Beach is the developers' home town 
where they have been active in local matters since 1967.

The principals purchased the block of land for the purpose of planting a pine forest and the trees were planted and tended, and have produced good growth.

After 20 years of farm forestry it became clear that there was an almost desperate need for a good quality, reasonably priced subdivision to be developed at Himatangi.

With land values rising, a subdivision was now timely given that the demand was proven, the land was stable, some of the same block had already been set aside for sections (1985), and the block generally adjoined the present community, well away from the rigors of the coastal wind, sand and salt spray.

The developers  have  owned property and lived at the beach for more than 35 years. They have a stake in the community and are determined to ensure that this subdivision will produce sections  of very high quality and will provide a sound investment base for purchasers.
